Keep On Doing Great Things - CaJo's Free Offer

Canton Jones' youtube subscribers [youtube.com/user/CAJOTVINC] can see this new video of his appearance on the Ricky Smiley show. It was most definitely a praise party up in there!

At CantonJones.net, you can also download a free audio copy of this song. I am not sure how long this offer will last, so get it while it's hot.
This is one of our most favorite praise songs of all times because...

God just keeps doing great things! [In the summer, we posted our own praise dance for this song on youtube, also, with Arrow Records' preview permission.]

Young Men of Valor - 21:03 - Breaking the Gospel Down with Style

These brothers in the Lord - Evin, Torrence, and Jorel - are a fierce force on the side of the Lord. 21:03 has some of the most consistently high quality vocals of any male group I've ever heard, in any genre.

They also deliver lyrics that help to break down the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ with "mad crazy" style. You can tell that J. Moss is their producer [PAJAM] 'cause this is just how he rolls. Praise God!

What I love most about this group is their versatility. They easily transition from solid gospel, like "Cover Me", to hard hitting rock / pop, like "You".

Check out some awesome music videos and video blog posts on their YouTube channel and get to know them better.

As an extra special treat, see their Stellar Awards performance in the YouTube video posted below, which I am sharing from their Myspace page. Their dancing is just about as good as their singing. They quickly had me and the kids bopping up and down and praising Jesus:

Review Part 3: The Reith Man with The Righteous Lyrics

Now that I've had the chance to enjoy my brand new B. Reith album (released yesterday), here is part 3 of my review on this "newer" artist.

    B. Reith's "Wish That" is a witty falling-out-of-love type of song with awesome acoustic guitar and bass guitar. His vocals remind me of El DeBarge, but not like he's straining in a falsetto, he has smooth, clear and well-trained vocals. (I speak as someone who has had some professional voice training.)

Then "The Come Back Kid" has a hip hop sound that starts with a Rocky-like sequence and chronicles some of B.'s journey from obscurity.

"Old School" has a 1920's big band sound that's still hip hop. Yeah, I said it's still hip hop, and well executed, too - real acoustics including a sax and bass. Not many Christian artists could pull this off (if any).

Of course the lyrics are off the chain and truly Righteous:

Refuse to be duped to believe in the truth is whatever you choose to
    believe in...

So tired of trying to please everyone...

I'm just going to be myself, whether they like it or not; I'm givin' it all that I've got.

    Much Respect, B!

If you are used to listening to rap, this may not surprise you, but if not, it may surprise some, that B's lyrics can get rather cocky and bold. Yet, he balances this with humility and confidence in what God is doing in his life. He talks about the fact that he has already paid his dues (former college athlete, professional singer since childhood and more), and that he has dedicated himself to pursuing his passion with the Lords' guidance, despite the obstacles that have been thrown in his path.

The praise and worship tracks that have a more "mainstream" style on this album include: Rain Down, Breathe, Just For You.

I love all three of these, but "Just For You" is an especially favorite worship song because he's dedicated that one exclusively to the Lord, without being concerned about whether or not it ever makes it onto the radio. He talks about past distractions that have kept him from focusing in on God in his lyrics.

I truly feel that B. Reith's music - from the acoustics to the lyrics - are some of the best quality, genuine, original, home-grown "New Songs" sung unto the Lord in the Christian music industry in a long time.

B.'s career, not just his music, inspires me to keep on doing what I am doing in my own life - following my passion because I love the Lord, without worrying about people's reactions, and trusting God to bring the favor.

If this is your first time reading my review of this artist, make sure that you see the earlier review below and check out the free previews of his songs on this blog page that are provided by Amazon.com.

    Enjoy!

    Previous Review:

    B. Reith (bee right) is Brian Reith and one of Christian music's favorite "new" artists (soloist and lyricist). He's not new to singing -- has been singing professionally/commercially all of his life. However, he's new to the mainstream recording industry.

    B. truly has a "funky fresh" music ministry. He smoothly blends hot rap, hip hop, and rock into his very versatile and diverse style. Then he comes in with an outstanding buttery layer of vocals that reminds you of El DeBarge. His versatility makes him a force in the music industry because there are few that can touch this brother's well-blended stylings.

B.Reith's love of the Lord Jesus shines through in his songs, as well. He is the "Reith Man" to deliver music that inspires and motivates both youth and more mature listeners, as well. His lyrics are truly outstanding -- combining wit, humor and wisdom, as well.

Be sure to check out the free songs that he's put out on Amazon.com in the widget at the top of the blog page. And buy your copy of the CD in our Amazon store here: http://bit.ly/breithfresh

He's also been doing a great job of producing a very entertaining video series on Youtube. Check him out on "Something to Remember TV" (s2rtv on youtube):

Understanding Jesus Through Mandisa's Eyes: "He Is With You"

Truly it is a blessing to be able to see Jesus through the eyes of great musical ministers, such as Mandisa, of American Idol fame. She is definitely one who loves the Lord with all of her heart, dedicates her time to inspire those who feel the same, and reaches out to those who are seeking to understand more about who Jesus is.

She is a true rock star in her own right -- having accomplished much more in her young life time than many older artists. However, in my eyes, she is also a rock star because she has tackled her health challenge due to obesity in a very healthy and comprehensive manner. Be sure to check out her video blog on the Tangle.com network.

I truly love each of the songs I have heard that she has had on her own album or has sung with others (like Kirk Franklin and Toby Mac). So, it has been a real strugggglllle to choose just one song to post here. The song I chose is a true tear jerker, especially when viewed as a music video, because Mandisa addresses the struggles that many folks are going through right now and exhorts us to continue trusting in the Lord because "He Is With You" (on Sparrow Records).

And that is all we need: for God the Father to live in our hearts because of the blood of Jesus setting us free from sin and death. He never leaves us nor forsakes us and always brings us through our trials. The trial will eventually pass you by, so, just hang in there and trust Him to get you through it.

Mandisa truly is a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. Please enjoy this video posted below entitled "He Is With You" (and make sure you get the tissue out before you press play).

Also, as additional encouragement (and for more tears), take a look at the second video posted below the music video, and let friends/family who have lost a child or another loved one know about it and watch it with them to encourage them.

A Real Love Song: "Just Love" by Brian Courtney Wilson

This man of God is the real deal.  Brian Courtney Wilson is my brother in Christ, who I've known since my college years.  We were both under the teaching of Dr. Ollie Watts-Davis, the famous professor and director of The Black Chorus at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

It is so totally awesome to see the fruit of what Dr. Davis imparted into us coming forth in Brian's musical career.  In summary, she taught us to live what we sing, before we start singing it.  He is singing about the God-kind-of-love in this beautiful song, "Just Love", not because he wanted to just put out a hot record...which it is...but because he is living this; just as Dr. Davis mentored him to do.

Anyone that knows Brian knows that he truly is a man who seeks after God, to understand Jesus and to help others understand Jesus.  Jesus is love, and "Just Love" is a perfect testimonial and witness of how Christian's really love the Lord, by walking in love and not just wearing the name badge.

Enjoy this video posted on Youtube by one of Brian's other fans.
